"You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas." - Psalm 8:6-8

Canada, and much of the world, is in a frenzy about global warming. Not a day goes by that we don't hear about it. Our secular society believes humanity is in charge of its own destiny and has to save ourselves from impending disaster. In contrast, the Bible comforts us with the assurance that God is always watching over His creation. But that does not promote indifference. On the contrary, we have a calling to fulfill our mandate as stewards of the earth.

UN climate panel urged to reform, stick to science Print E-mail

Globe & Mail, August 30, 2010: The UN climate panel should only make predictions when it has solid scientific evidence and avoid straying into policy advocacy, a group of national science academies said in a report on Monday. The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was hit with a wave of criticism after acknowledging in January that its 2007 global warming report had exaggerated the pace of Himalayan glaciers melting. It had previously said the report had overstated how much of the Netherlands is below sea level. Read more

Don't dismiss Climategate just yet Print E-mail

Lorne Gunter, National Post, July 16, 2010:

Last week, the third of three allegedly independent inquiries into last fall's Climategate scandal at Britain's Climate Research Unit (CRU) was concluded. Like the other two, it found troubling behaviour by the scientists at the CRU or by the University of East Anglia, of which the CRU is a part -- most notably attempts to hide data from critics and from government investigators. The Copenhagen Treaty Print E-mail

ARPA Note and Action Item: The United Nations (including Canada) are meeting in Copenhagen in December with the purpose of making a treaty to combat climate change. Why has there been so much pressure to come up with a treaty after the failure of Kyoto? One of the motivations behind this movement is using the concern over the environment to advance a form of international socialism in which industrial nations give large sums of money to developing countries because of their "carbon footprint". This sounds like the payment of indulgences for sins of omissions (the state religion being pantheistic humanism). For more information, have a look at the proposed Copenhagen treaty. After reading the article below, please consider writing a note to Prime Minister Harper, Environment Minister Prentice, and your MP, urging them to climb off of the climate change bandwagon.

Does the Vaccine Matter? Print E-mail

ARPA Note: Medicine isn't our expertise so we have to rely on the findings of others to help inform us about the Swine Flu Vaccine hysteria. For another article that challenges most of the claims about the vaccine that we hear from the mainstream media, click here.

By Shannon Brownlee and Jeanne Lenzer, The Atlantic, November 2009:  Why then has the federal government stockpiled millions of doses of antivirals, at a cost of several billion dollars? And why are physicians being encouraged to hand out prescriptions to large numbers of people, without sound evidence that the drugs will help? The short answer may be that public-health officials feel they must offer something, and these drugs are the only possible remedies at hand.
