Big News: Report Calls for Repealing of Hate Crimes Section of Canadian Human Rights Act

In a very surprising move, an independent review of the Canadian Human Rights Act has concluded that Section 13 of the Act should be repealed. Section 13 is the now infamous section that pertains to hate speech and has been used by the Human Rights Commission to squelch free speech. This conclusion was a surprise to many because it was paid for by the Human Rights Commission itself and was expected to condone the status quo. Now there is even more reason for the federal government (and provincial governments) to make significant changes to the Human Rights Acts/Codes, and the renegade human rights commissions.
