Update 2: Globe & Mail’s Ibbitson thinks Conservatives will stall or kill C-389 in Senate

Minutes ago, Bill Siskay’s “transgender rights” Bill C-389 passed the final vote in the House of Commons, 143 for and 135 against. It now moves to the Senate where it has to go through the same process as the House of Commons. The bill could still be defeated if a majority of Senators vote it down, or if an election is called before it receives Royal Assent. Although Senators don’t represent ridings,  they do represent provinces and you can still write them to share your concerns about this legislation. Click here for contact information.

An amazing thing has been happening over the past few days. ARPA Canada’s website has been inundated with visitors who made use of our Easy Mail technology to write their MPs and urge them to defeat C-389. Over 5,000 people have used Easy Mail in the past few days alone. No, that’s not a typing error. Five thousand! The vast majority of these came from the Toronto area. Since every letter was CC’d to Stephen Harper and Justice Minister Nicholson, there is no doubt that our government heard from us.

Although we are grieved that our country is making decisions that will hurt us and our children, we are encouraged that a growing number of Christians are exercising their democratic and Christian duty by being a voice for truth rather than sitting on the sidelines. May God continue to show His grace and patience to our land and to each of us. Please join us in praying for our leaders and fellow-citizens, that we might bend our knees to the King of kings.
