Another example of how Multiculturalism Isn’t Working
André Schutten – I guess one of the problems with the idea of multi-culturalism is that for it to work, it has to be a two way street. Certainly, if my culture has to make room for your culture, than your culture should also have to make room for mine. And the idea that we share in many cultures on a language level, or an arts level, or a cuisine level, is actually really cool. I enjoy Italian food and Dragon-boat races and hookah pipes and German Baroque music and the French language as much as the next guy. It’s a good thing to appreciate this mix of culture.
But the idea that multi-culturalism should mean we turn a blind eye to totalitarianism being instituted and different systems of law being observed in sections of democratic cities is unacceptable. This article takes a look at a very scary trend happening in European cities. Give it a read; it’s an eye opener. We can’t allow this to happen in Canada!
