By Patrick B. Craine TORONTO, Ontario, June 21, 2010 ( – Ontario’s highest court has confirmed that obstetricians are charged with caring for the unborn child as well as his or her mother.  In a Thursday ruling the Ontario Court of Appeal upheld the judgment of the Ontario Superior Court in a preliminary hearing to a malpractice suit filed against Guelph General Hospital by the Liebig family. In an unanimous decision, the five-judge panel denied the appeal based on the “very long and well-established” legal precedent that an infant “may sue for damages sustained as a result of the negligence of health care providers during labour and delivery.”

02 Jun 2010 Hundreds of Post-Viability Abortions Every Year in Canada

Busting the abortion myths: There are two such myths in Canada: One is that there is a general consensus on the issue and the other is that late-term abortions are rare. Both are wrong By MARGARET SOMERVILLE, Montreal Gazette, June 2, 2010: It's an oft-repeated truism in ethics: "Good facts are essential for good ethics." 31 May 2010 Defying Common Sense: The Criminal Code and the Being-Born, Newly-Born and Unborn Child

23 Nov 2009 Conflicts of Interest Shape Research: Abortion Studies Intrinsically Biased

deVeber Institute: Toronto, Canada (November 23, 2009) – The harm that is done to women’s health by abortion is being hidden in medical research, according to Elizabeth Ring-Cassidy, Senior Researcher specializing in the effects of abortion on women’s health with the deVeber Institute. She says that abortion research studies are intrinsically flawed. “Abortion studies which reveal negative effects of abortion are dubbed ‘methodologically flawed’, the results are buried, and the researchers don’t get funded.” In order to be funded or published, most abortion studies are required to start with the presumption that abortion is safe.
