ARPA Canada is seeking a faithful and capable leader to serve as Executive Director. The Executive Director provides overall leadership to the organization, ensuring that ARPA Canada remains effective in educating, equipping, and encouraging Reformed Christians to political action while bringing a biblical perspective to Canada’s civil authorities.

The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors and Leadership Team to guide the strategy, oversee operations, strengthen relationships with supporters and partners, and ensure that ARPA Canada continues to pursue its mission with clarity, conviction, and excellence.

Reports to: ARPA Board of Directors

Key Responsibilities

Vision and Leadership

  • Maintains awareness of the broader political, cultural, and organizational landscape affecting ARPA Canada’s work and helps position the organization to respond wisely and effectively.
  • Ensures the organization stays aligned with its mission, anticipates emerging opportunities or risks, and keeps leadership focused on the most important priorities.

Culture and Organizational Health

  • Encourages a healthy and mission-driven culture within the organization.
  • Supports staff development, celebrates successes, and helps maintain unity and momentum around ARPA Canada’s priorities.

Public Relations

  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including major supporters, allied organizations, and government leaders.
  • Represents ARPA Canada in key relationships where trust, influence, and collaboration are essential.

Donor Relations

  • Maintains meaningful relationships with major supporters and key donors.
  • Helps communicate the impact of ARPA Canada’s work, encourages ongoing partnership, and ensures donors remain connected to the mission and vision of the organization.

Strategic Thinking

  • Helps identify and develop significant initiatives, campaigns, and opportunities that advance ARPA Canada’s mission.
  • Encourages creative thinking.
  • Ensures that significant efforts align with long-term goals and priorities.

Problem Solving

  • Addresses major organizational challenges, complex decisions, or situations that require careful judgment.
  • Helps bring clarity, perspective, and resolution when significant issues arise.

Biblical Grounding

  • Ensures the organization’s work remains rooted in Scripture and guided by a faithful, confessionally Reformed Christian worldview.
  • Encourages thoughtful reflection on how biblical principles apply to the political and cultural issues ARPA Canada engages with.

Board Integration

  • Maintains strong communication and alignment between the Board of Directors and organizational leadership.
  • Ensures the board is well informed about direction, opportunities, and challenges while helping translate board guidance into organizational focus.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to the authority of Scripture and agreement with ARPA Canada’s mission, principles and Reformed identity
  • Active membership in a confessional Reformed church.
  • Proven interest in, and commitment to, ARPA’s mission.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a relevant field such as public policy, communications, law, education, or organizational leadership.
  • Ability to work well with a team that is scattered across Canada, through virtual means.
  • Must be willing to travel a minimum of 25 nights a year.
