Updated: Alberta ARPA’s Descend on Legislature

April 13, 2011

In the first event of this kind in ARPA history, twenty Alberta ARPA reps from Lethbridge to Neerlandia converged on the steps of the Alberta Legislature in Edmonton on April 12 to meet with a dozen MLAs, including five cabinet ministers. The groups were encouraged with the excellent reception they received. The issues presented included land rights, parental responsibility in the education system, and reforming the Alberta Human Rights Commission. All of the participants were every-day Albertans, many of whom have little other political experience, but who bravely took up the challenge to make these meetings happen.

Honourable Ken Kowalski, Speaker of the Alberta Legislature, along with two other MLAs poses with the Neerlandia team shortly after a meeting.

A conference of the ARPA’s was held in Edmonton Immanuel CanRC that afternoon.

The conference followed four excellent ARPA events in Calgary, Coaldale, Neerlandia, and Edmonton. We are very grateful to all those who donated so much time and energy to make these events and and the conference a reality. May God use these efforts to promote justice and righteousness in our land.

A provincial conference is being planned in BC this fall and a national conference and event in Parliament is being planned for the spring of 2012 in Ottawa.
