Our fertility rate is still lower than China, which has a one child policy for many of its citizens! And our fertility rate is also far below the 2.1 needed to naturally replace the existing population. The slight rise also seems to correspond to a slight decline in the number of reported abortions. Pro-life is pro-Canada.

The Canadian Press – September 26, 2008 Ottawa — Statistics Canada says the country’s fertility rate hit a 10-year high in 2006, but that women are waiting longer to have children. The agency reports that average number of children per woman rose to 1.59 in 2006 from 1.54 in 2005. Keep reading here.
