Video and Press Release: Introducing André Schutten
“Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” – Ps 115:1
For Immediate Release (June 16, 2011 – Ottawa ON): The Association for Reformed Political Action (ARPA) Canada is thrilled to announce the opening of its Ottawa office today, along with the addition of André Schutten who will serve full-time as our Ontario Director and Legal Counsel.
“Our focus of educating, encouraging and equipping Christians in Canada on how they can have an impact on the various levels of government in Canada can only be further enhanced by the addition of such a highly qualified and motivated individual” stated John Voorhorst, ARPA Canada’s chairman of the board. “God continues to provide for us in every way, also by way of providing many individuals across this great land who support us financially. A truly exciting and humbling time for all of us at ARPA Canada!”
ARPA Canada was launched in 2008 with a mission of equipping members of Canada’s Reformed churches to political action and bringing a biblical perspective to our civil governments. Although it has had only one employee up until today, it has thrived under a very active board and hundreds of volunteers across Canada. There are now 18 local ARPA chapters in towns and cities in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario. Learn more about ARPA here.
André Schutten recently completed his articles with EFC’s Centre for Faith and Public Life and is scheduled to be admitted to the Ontario Bar next week. He will be tasked with fulfilling ARPA Canada’s mission in Ontario, with a special focus on our nation’s capital. Learn more about him here. Andrés office is located in Gatineau Park across the river from Parliament, in an art gallery in Chelsea, Quebec.
